GUIDE + TIPS

At Cobblers Nest we value our craft and the products we create but we also want our customers to learn how to care for their goods once they have flown the nest, here’s some useful guides and tips:

1. SHOE HORNS - For extensive comforts and enjoyment with your foot wear, always use a shoe horn to avoid changing the shape of your shoes or damaging the back.

2. VARIETY - Having a variety of shoes and rotating your shoes day to day enables the leather enough time to dry and breath between wears.

3. SHOE TREES - Storing shoes on shoe trees ensure they stay in their most favourable intended shape and enables to soften creases in leathers.

4. SPONGE CLEAN - Before applying any of the above shoe care products, clean your shoes with a breathable sponge and ensure they have air dried for at least 24 hours.

5. SOFT CLOTH & CREAM - Ensure you have a good conditioning cream as part of your shoe kit. Apply weekly to keep the leather hydrated and flexible. Applying the cream with a soft clot, wrapped around a finger or two forming circular application movements will ensure the cream is well worked into the material and will avoid streaks. For best results allow the cream to penetrate for at least 15 minutes before polishing off with a soft shoe brush.

6. WAX ON WAX OFF - In addition to the shoe cream a good wax polish can be applied to give a more gleaming sheen, especially to the toe and heel area, a smart finish.

7. BEST FOOT FORWARD - Well loved shoes will take you where your destined to go, use a cloth or soft brush to remove any excess product and put your best foot forward daily.
